Also includes runs of Hammer and Tongs, 1979-1982 and the Socialist Tribune, 1981-1983. This collection can best be used in conjunction with the papers of other Iowa Socialists: Bill Douglas, Linda Nelson, and Karen Kubby.

Karen Kubby was born August 8, 1960 in Virginia. She lived in Iowa City briefly in the early 1970s, and returned in 1978 to attend the University of Iowa. Linda Nelson was active in the Iowa Socialist Party and the Socialist Party USA. She was part of the core group that reenergized the Iowa party in the late 1970s.
